Clinton turned McCain Supporter Says McCain Wont Overturn Roe v Wade

Via ThinkProgress-
In a new ad for John McCain, Debra Bartoshevich, a self-described “proud Hillary Clinton Democrat,” announces that she opposes Barack Obama and will vote for John McCain. At a press conference this afternoon, Bartoschevich made this puzzling statement:
Going back to 1999, John McCain did an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle saying that overturning Roe v. Wade would not make any sense, because then women would have to have illegal abortions.

At the Saddleback Forum just a couple of weeks ago, McCain left no doubt about his position: “I have a 25-year pro-life record in the Congress, in the Senate. And as President of the United States, I will be a pro-life president and this presidency will have pro-life policies. That’s my commitment, that’s my commitment to you.”

Michael Scherer writes, “Was she going off message? Or are Republicans engaging in some cagey multi-messaging?” In 1999, McCain did indeed tell reporters that he “would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade.” But in recent years, McCain has repeatedly said Roe “should be overturned.”

McCain surrogate Carly Fiorina – who also attended today’s press conference with Bartoshevich – has misrepresented McCain’s position on choice in the past. “Newsweek magazine reported, she told women in Columbus, Ohio, that McCain ‘has never signed on to efforts to overturn Roe vs. Wade,’ the landmark Supreme Court decision confirming the right to abortion.”
So, is McCain REALLY against Roe v Wade? Is he telling Clinton supporters one thing and his Republican base another? Maybe this Clinton supporter was just ignorant and believed McCain's recuiters when they showed her his 1999 statements.

Ignorance is bliss but this woman needs to take the sunglasses off and clean her head of fantasies. McCain has clearly come out with his "Life begins at conception" rhetoric repeatedly in the past few years and has been courting the evangelical right with this same line. His Supreme Court pick WILL be the turning moment in a tight court that came close this year. It does NOT matter what WE THE PEOPLE want. It only matters what the Neo-Cons want - those Right Winged criminals who stole the presidency and manipulated this country into offing 1,000,000 Iraqis and sending our military personnel to do it, making sure that they have nothing to come back home to when they are done!
They have no respect for "life" but they will claim they believe "life begins" at birth. Lady, don't kid yourself, McCain is AGAINST ROE V WADE and the regime trying to put him into replace King-Wanna-Be George is out to undo anything that gives you or me or anyone rights over them. Roe V Wade allows women a right to have control over their own bodies and we mustn’t allow that, ya know.
